Which of the several cellphone service providers best suits your needs, if residing in India? I'm considering a switch, and would love to know.

Well, I still have a Loop Mobile service, and honestly paying the bills, despite not using it.
But Loop Mobile is only for BOM and those areas.

I am on BSNL. Apart from Metros and big cities, BSNL beats all other operators hands down. And the quality of the service is surprisingly good. 3G is excellent.

Interesting you say that, your handle says that you're located in Mumbai. How much do you spend on average for 3G?

I used to live in Mumbai but since I have changed jobs, I rarely stay there. For data i have their BB Plan, although I have their 2G plan subscribed, I get 3G service for no extra cost.

Airtel's pretty good in Bangalore for sure. I get 1GB of 3G data (though at pathetic speeds at times) for about Rs. 250 pm.

When I was in BLR, I used Airtel but Reliance GSM was good too. Btw Airtel has launched 4G in BLR recently.

Sounds like a decent deal, how often do the 3G speeds dip to 2G/EDGE levels - if that is your complaint? Not more than 25% of the time I think?
