I have a quick question about IAF version of Brahmos missile. It is more pertaining to simply physics. Suppose it is launched by Su-30MKI while flying above Mach 1, will the missile travel at higher speed as compared to ground launch?

Let me put it this way. Every vehicle has a max speed and a cruise speed. For Brahmos it is appx Mach 3. So if it is launched from a stationery platform, it will burn up more fuel to reach that speed and hence its range will decrease. For air launched platform, it will consume less fuel to reach that speed and hence more fuel will be available for its cruise phase till destination, thereby increasing its range. Hope this helps. |

I am not exactly sure about what do you mean by accuracy, but hitting with a specified area with a certain distance (10m I believe) is considered a success. They are pretty accurate with all those GPS guided navigation and all gizmos.
