Hey guys,
Came back from HYD to DEL on S2-126 with a 20 min late arrival due to late arrival of the on coming aircraft from COK. But the best part was that the eqp in use was VT-SDL B767-300ER
We landed right in 1Hr50mins though the plane was then parked on the remote stand on the international terminal apron as the same aircraft was due to depart for SIN in the evening.
we were bussed from the international terminal tarmac to domestic arrivals which gave us a fair conducted tour of the IGIA TR coming soon _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |

Is that the first time a widebody has been used in India by a pvt Indian airline for domestic flight. I cant think of an earlier instance. I dont think the 9W 332 was used on a domestic leg.
Also OT but couldnt 9W try using their 2nd 332 on one of their DEL-BOM flights?

I think it is very sensible of Sahara to use the 767 on high load factor routes in addition to the DEL-SIN sector.
This way, the aircraft will be utilized well and those extra seats (if filled) will earn them much needed moolah |

well i think that is the ONLY route that makes sense for air sahara to use the B767-300 ie to deploy that aircraft on the SIN routes .... hey btw do they have PTV's on their B763 aircrafts?? |

Yess PTV,s are their on both economy and biz though they only operate them on the international sector so i guess its the DEL-SIN pax who are raking in the moolah Yeah loads are gud nowdays on DEL-HYD-COK plus alot of pax on my flight were ppl bound for USA to ORD on the AA flight.
Bt i guess this would be a temporary arrangement as they intend to use the aircraft on DEL-CAN route _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |

Has S2 placed any new orders for a/c for their intl expansion? Since it doesnt look like they plan to sell again in the near future?
Also is S2 going to start any new intl route apart from CAN anytime soon?

To be honest with u S2 is coming up really well after its failed merger. Bt nw the question is why is Sahara nt as ambitious and glamarous in its plans as compared to other airlines is simply because its current owners are at arms length with the current ruling UPA alliance and Congress to be precise.
I guess we all have studied this much of business management that in order to have a successfull and a sound business running one needs to have good terms with the authorities and the Govt.
Anyways not deviating from the topic.
S2 is looking foward to fly to DAC frm CCU and CAN from DEL.
Besides this they had evinced intrest in BKK, HKG
More widebody jets not sure need to check up with the PRO of S2
as far as VT-SDL pics are concerned guys just gimme a couple of more hour today being a half working day for me i wud be doing the needfull in my fotopic album soon so stay tuned _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |

Hey Vabby - great pic of the 767 - I'm glad that S2 is using them on the domestic route when needed. Shows that someone at S2 is thinking! Were the other pax confused seeing a twin aisle a/c? Or all OK? And did the reservations know of this route being a 767 on that flight? Or was it a last minute operational change? |

They might've sent them for renewal, althought all of them sounds weird...
My colleagues who have these temporary ones were told that there was a shortage of the material used for making these passes for a while in the southern region.

Yeah S2 used to operate the flight to LHR 4 times a week i guess using the VT-SDL (B767-300ER). 9W during the merger talks wanted them to stop their service and utilise the same plane for its ATQ-LHR flight. Bt then the merger failed so currenty they operating on domestic legs including the DEL-SIN flight on certain days.
They intend to use the EQP on DEL-CAN _________________ Expeditors- You'd be surprised how far we will go for you www.expeditors.com |

Ferry flight is where the a/c is being taken (empty) for delivery to the destination. Example is the flight AI's 777s will make from Seattle to BOM or DEL - that would be a ferry flight. Another example would be say if S2 were launching a new London-NYC-London service, they would first have to take the empty a/c from India to London - and that flight would be a ferry flight.

A flight for the purpose of:
a. Returning an aircraft to base.
b. Delivering an aircraft from one location to another.
c. Moving an aircraft to and from a maintenance base.- Ferry flights, under certain conditions, may be conducted under terms of a special flight permit. |
