Finally,

9W has updated their main site to display a banner for its new flights to New York (Newark's Liberty Intl). Commencing on 5 August 2007.

The statue of liberty is on the banner! You can't miss it.

Hopefully 9W starts up ORD soon after!

ok heres a little unconfirmed piece of gossip I got from a Jet pilot friend: Some postings are being opened up and A330 pilots and mx people are being asked to choose between EWR, BRU, YYZ and New Orleans! Others we already know about: but New Orleans? Can we expect some announcement here? Where is New Orleans anyway?

BUt apparently there is some trouble brewing on the 777 mx front with engineers being shifted around, recalled from KUL overnight etc etc... Anybody with further news on this? MEL?

New Orleans is the largest city in Louisiana state in the South. It is a somewhat important place for tourists in the US, but is not known to be a major international airport.

What is still stranger is that the city was badly damaged in Hurricane Katrina and has not quite returned to normal yet.

New Orleans (MSY) is the most unlikely venue I can think of - no business traffic from India that I know of, not too many Indians living there etc. ATL (close by) or even CLT would be better bets than MSY.

I would expect 9W to next target either ORD or IAD, after stabilizing at EWR and YYZ. They will have the west coast covered via the PVG flight.

BOS can also be a best option for 9W, considering there are lot of students, businessmen and IT professionals of Indian origin living there.

http://www.cityofno.com/

Not Spoken to any of my 9W buddies yet.

Although there would def be postings for Transit checks/Layover checks as 9W operates under CAR145.As the AMEs get the requsite needed practical experience, then higher checks authorisations would follow in time.
So for the Major/higher checks there would be a need for Foreign AMEs
