Yet another beautiful report from you, Bala! I liked your `soon we were at a remote bay that 6E loves so much' expression. Ditto for the comparison between 9W and 6E on this route. The boarding ramp is a pleasure to spot at airports even though it has been around for quite some time. Quite a bit seems to have changed at TRV since The Wife and I were there in 2009 - we had landed at the International Terminal on IC 589 (MAA-TRZ-TRV-SHJ), and flown out on IC 932 (TRV-MAA). It is nice to see the new Terminal 3 coming up. Which direciton did you take off into, from TRV? The Indigo ads are indeed quite eye-catching: I remember the `Indipo to Thiruvananthapuram' ad at MAA when the service was launched. Now in addition to Kingfisher, they take digs at Spicejet as well! It is nice to see 6E doing well: neat and well-maintained aircraft (even though it is the senior-most in the fleet), good on-time performance, and consistent service. I had done a DEL-PNQ on 6E in 2009, and while all else was fine, the in-flight announcements were a bit sloppy on this flight - I wonder whether that was an one-off case, or not. The Karnataka tourism stall is cute! The BMTC Vayu Vajra services adding PTVs and the Internet - is a fine idea. As it is, the service is very nice and efficient, and the buses well-maintained. Admittedly I have not patronised them much (the last time was in 2009), but I would love to do so, now. Do you also get wireless Internet for laptops on the bus? At the middle, there used to be a power-port for wheelchairs - are there other power-ports now?
Cheers, Sumantra. |

Nice TR @Justbala! Thanks a ton for posting! I share all your views on 6E, they are simple, clean, efficient and bloody on time! _________________ Causal Determinism : We are hardwired to need answers. Another excellent India domestic report. Good to note Indigo has got its formula right.
