EY to start TRV and COK from next month onwards.
http://www.gulf-daily-news.com/Story.asp?Article=178841&Sn=BNEW&IssueID=30023
"The new cities will double Etihad's destinations in India to four. Flights from Abu Dhabi to Trivandrum will begin on May 31 and to Cochin on June 3."

Etihad will operate the Trivandrum and Cochin services three and four times a week respectively and both routes are expected to increase to daily flights from October.

Excellent! More choices for Indians, and more proof of the short-sighted nature of the GoI that continues to hinder other Indian carriers from operating on this sector, while allowing Gulf carriers to expand willy-nilly.

This is an expected announcement after the new bilateral signed in March.

See my earlier thread on the topic in this forum posted on 22 Mar.

Good move by EY to start these services during the summer rush to India from the Gulf. They'll do well on these routes, wonder why GoI is still sitting on their hands as far as allowing indian carriers to enter the Gulf market. Trying to protect Ai-IC we are ending up losing more and more market share to EK/EY/GF/QR etc.

Cheers
