Svetlana Ivanyshka, 26, was asked to open her suitcases at Kiev airport after guards got a tip off that a young woman on her flight from New Delhi was carrying drugs. They found a bag of hashish stuffed in the sex toy's battery compartment. A border police spokesman said: "She told us that she had put the drugs in a vibrator because she thought no one would ever think of touching it, let alone looking inside it. "She was obviously unaware of how thorough our officers are in their searches." My concern is HOW did she get thru the security at New Delhi ? Wonder what the guys might have thought. But the Kiev authorities must have faced similar stuff happening before I guess.. A shame really, maybe it would make things less tense! Seriously though, maybe they didn't bother saying anything since she was leaving with it. Now, as to how she got it in the country in the first place...who knows. Ram P She went through security and not customs at DEL. I think that makes a difference because it is the customs who actually are specialized for such tasks. I don't think a vibrator poses a security threat. Usually the x-ray scans the stuff and there could be other devices to detect explosive materials. So overlooking the drug issue still does not amount to a security lapse, technically. O boy, our crazy country never ceases to amaze me. Don’t people have better things to do in life than worry about issues like this? This is what I think, absolutely no backing to it. From the limited times I have seen the x-ray screen and seen my computer/camera image I could more or less make out what it was. An empty battery compartment with drugs (or anything else) should be visible right? There’s probably no way to tell if it's a drug just by looking at the x-ray image, but if it was closely scrutinized im sure they would have seen something.
