Guess the peoples leader does not want come into contact with the common man at the airport.

another possibility is that she wants to skip the security check at the airports.

I remember George Fernandes was in BLR and travelling on IC (but obvious).. His PA checked in for him but his baggage etc went thru the normal process of screening and checking in with same tags and all that stuff.. Just the only other privilege he got was he had the whole IC bus to himself along with his chamchas! Very Happy

What she scared about at the airport? If anyone had to blow her car up then? Why doesnt she set up a helipad and arrange for pick and drop from home to tarmac straight off! Confused

What a stupid and idiotic decisions. Can't the decision making people see a pandora's box being opened for all and sundry politicians. This will start off a wave of similar "requests" coming from every part of the country.

Look at what happened to the NSG/Black Cat commandos. They were supposed to protect only the PM and a couple of others at a very high threat level but now it has become a status symbol for all politicians to have them surrounded by them.

Understandably they need that extra security as long s it does not cause undue delays to the Flight.

The reality is that when they travel abroad, they become as law abiding and in line with democracy as do all of us, wonder why and how this change takes place?

Congress wants power in UP at any cost.

An alliance with BJP is out of the question, so who else remains BSP. And BSP = Mayawati & if Mayawati + Congress's current need * In tandem with the blessings of Sonia Gandhi = Car goes to TARMAC yaar.....DGCA apne hi to department hai.

And is there something new that we do not know.....about spending tax payers money....

When Army's Apte can take his family and relatives in the official helicopter to Shirdi, surely Mayawati deserves what she desires.

Where is the original story? What was posted has apparently been deleted.

***
Anyway, what was posted was that Mayawati might join the list of politicians who are allowed to drive straight onto the tarmac. It is apparent Home Minstry move and linked to political compulsions in UP Where the Congress is most probably attempting a post election alliance with the BSP and its supremo.

The Home ministry has however denied the move while the BSP says theri leader is one of thise whose security arrangements is being reviewed as she is on the hit list.
