The runway at KNU is 9000 ft long. That CRJ must have landed pretty far down the runway to not have stopped in time. The pax are very lucky that it stopped when it did and did not hit the nav aids and trees at a high speed.

Retriving this bird is going to be difficult with limited facilities at KNU.

Last I was in DEL, 2 of 4 CR7s were in hanger, one was without engines.

So the CR7 schedule must be affected big time.

+1

The mud seems to have done its job well. The airport wall doesn't seem too far away from the nose of the plane!

Well, earlier this year, they were down to 3 CRJs of which 1 suffered a bird-hit a week ago (with considerable blade-damage) and now this incident at Kanpur. So for all practical purposes, they're left with ONE CRJ.

Air India has returned one of its CR7s. VT-RJB was ferried to Ljubljana, in Air India Regional colors.
