Just wondering what you guys think.... i found it very suspicious.. i dont know know.. its an unbased idea of mine... i just want to know if you think there was any foul play between our govt and boeing. What makes me wonder is the allegations of Airbus that they were not given a good chance to place their bids.

I presume you are referring to the AI order.[edited the post to read AI]
Personally I feel there was def an External Influence the way things were handled. This could be Internal politics or External Country influences.

No influences.
Bribes were paid.
Hasan Ali the man behind the 35000 Crore heist, is the front man for two of our leading politicians in the aviation sector.
Now, did i hear someone say, India is a poor or developing country. |

Correction mate we're an EVER DEVELOPING country ... thats what even my gradchildren will read in their textbooks:
Quote: | "India is a developing country. However some people argue that we are underdeveloped but it would not be appropriate to call India under developed because the government is trying" |
The above are from my Economics textbook SSC 10th standard!!!
My grandchildren would read the same because:
1. India's going no where near development.
2. SSC textbooks change maybe once in a decade! ( they recently have i guess...) _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

either way it was good choice to go in for B777/87 combo...imagine the accusations flying around had the order gone for A345/50.. _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

Irrespective of which way the deal had to go [A or B].In a country of India size its difficult to please all,so there are bound to be disturbed persons.

The technical committee had members from the Dept of Space and IIT (Dpet of Aeronautics).
It was based on their recommendations that AI made the fnal choice for Boeing.
Of course, there might have been the geo-political factor.
Seems to be a clean deal as well: with the CVG and CAG checking every stage. In fact negotiations for both AI/IA were conducted in CBVG presence and after monitoring by the PMO.
The logic was large derals in India always have this tag of scam haunting them, so Manmohan Singh was determined to end this. |

But personally i would have preferred seeing a mixed fleet of something like A330s + B777 -LR/3ER + B788s + A388s _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld
