|

Hi folks,
I'm currently creating a freeware package for the popular Microsoft Flight Simulator series that adds scenery and "AI traffic" - virtual representations of airline and other air traffic - to depict the entire Indian Air Force transport fleet, including the AHQCS "Pegasus" squadron. It will eventually be released by a freeware organisation called "Military AI Works".
I am trying to find out what the typical callsigns are that the Indian Air Force use. Can anyone offer some help?
So far I have Astra and Bison for the IL-76s, and Pluto and Titan for the IL-78s. I would be grateful if anyone can shed some light on further callsigns and whether they are associated with specific squadrons, bases or types of aircraft.
I'm also hoping to include the BSF Air Wing, so any callsign info for them would also be graciously recieved.
Many thanks,
Dan |

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately they don't have any info on this topic.
I was hoping that anyone who uses an airband receiver/scanner would be able to help. I understand that there are a few members of these fora who follow that hobby.
Anyone living in the vicinity of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, possibly Nagpur, and maybe even Ahmadebad, who uses such a scanner, will potentially have heard the Indian Air Force operating on the civilian airband communication channels. Especially in the case of Delhi. There may be other places such as Guwahati or Chandigarh too, where one might hear joint civilian and military communications on the civilian airband.
If you feel shy, you could always pm me. I might even provide my email address for you to continue discussion if you are unsure or nervous about discussing anything to do with the Indian military.
Thanks, and best regards,
