Paramount Airways, a key player in South India will have a national presence by 2009-10, its Managing Director M Thiagarajan has told NDTV.
Announcing an evening flight on the Chennai-Madurai sector from Feb 26, he said the airlines would soon cover Tiruchirappalli and spread its wings to the western sector by operating flights to Mumbai from Madurai and Coimbatore and also to Calicut and Bangalore. It also plans to link Thiruananthapuram and Hyderabad.
The airways which operated 1,500 flights in different routes, will add 15 more aircraft to its fleet in three years.
In all the sectors in which the airlines was operating for more than six months, it was earning profit, and the customer retention was 100 per cent, he said.
The airlines enjoyed the highest market share of 24 per cent in the sectors in which it operated, he said.
In the Chennai-Madurai sector, it was having 75 to 80 per cent load factor and was increasing the connectivity on the popular demand of the frequent fliers who wanted a evening flight that would enable them to take overseas flights to Singapore etc.
He also announced a new offer for frequent Business Class fliers. For every four business class tickets, the frequent flier would get a free upgrade to first class on the purchase of the fifth Business Class tickets. Thiagarajan said frequent fliers with seven boarding passes would get eighth flight free. If a person travelled in business class five times, he would get sixth flight free of cost.
Paramount will directly connect Madurai-Bangalore and Madurai-Mumubai by the end of this year, Thiagarajan said. |

Seems like excellent progress from Paramount. They're clearly quite differentiated in their offerings, and my dad refused to eat breakfast yesterday morning since he'd already been fed twice by Paramount (once at the lounge in Hyderabad, then next on his flight HYD-BLR)! |

Hehe - actually I doubt if I can do that now, dad's gone off to HYD and now to DEL, and will not be back in BLR for the next 2-3 months. And by then he'd have flown DN a couple of more times and would have forgotten everything about Paramount |

Paramount has said today that it will open up routes to West India in a big way, but has refused to say more. Also it is to increase its Embraer fleet.
Industry sources say that it will be either Madurai-Mumbai or Chennai-Mumbai. |

Hope they star PNQ soon! A MAA-PNQ-AMD or MAA-GOI-PNQ or MAA-PNQ-DEL routes should do well.
Early morning MAA-PNQ and late evening PNQ-MAA. _________________ http://www.cougar-rides.com
