Indian RFP for 126 fighters approved for release
Release of the India’s long-awaited request for proposals for 126 medium multi-role combat aircraft has been approved by the government’s defence acquisition council.
The RFP is expected to be issued within weeks, launching a competition between European, Russian and US fighter manufacturers for a contract that is expected to be between $8 billion and $10 billion.
India plans to buy 18 aircraft in fly-away condition and manufacture the remaining 108 under license at Hindustan Aeronautics.

hmm I dont see any US fighter planes inthe pipe line, look at this:
India plans to buy 18 aircraft in fly-away condition and manufacture the remaining 108 under license at Hindustan Aeronautics.
That excludes US jets for sure, I am sure these people are gonna go for the MIG29 OVT, crap decision if ever they go for it. I would prefer a mixed fleet of US and russian equipment in the airforce. _________________ HamiltonAir |

IAF to buy all 126 aircraft from same company
Putting aside rumours of multi-vendor acquisition, the Indian Air Force (IAF) says it will acquire its 126 Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MRCA) from a single manufacturer.

I think Dassault might be on the top now along with MiG's. IAF pilot's are GA GA over Mirage 2000's.
