This is a surprise. AA has proposed to start service SEA to BLR. AA has only a token presence at SEA and is relying on Alaska to feed this flight. This is a Delta mini hub. The reason for Seattle is that both ORD or DFW are too far for 787 and LAX is an alternate, but may be the same reason, out of range for 787. However I will wait for this until it actually happens.

Correction: service to start October 2020. And Alaska is joining oneworld so the reason for the flight.

SEA-BLR is a bit of a stretch for any aircraft other than the 777-200LR, and AA doesn't have those in their fleet. Are they planning on operating a load restricted 77W?

JL had announced plans to launch NRT-BLR a while back.

Could AA be doing a SEA-NRT-BLR on a 787?

I believe they will be using a long range version of 787, originating in LAX or DFW.

This is proposed to be a daily service, I thought AA would start at 4 to 5 times a week, then go for daily. It appears that they are very optimistic.

AA will be doing SEA-BLR nonstop, not via NRT.

With which aircraft? Isnt SEA-BLR beyond the range of 787?

As I mentioned before, the only aircraft that can do it comfortably without any load restriction is the 777-200LR.

SEA-BLR is around 7020 nm across the North Pole. With a range of 7600 nm, the 789 is going to find it a stretch, considering winds and diversion reserve fuel requirements. It will have to be load restricted. Same with the 77W.

They're operating a Boeing 789. This would be the second longest 789 flight that AA operates.

If the Coronavirus is still around for the next few months, I am beginning to doubt if this route will start as scheduled. Could be postponed and/or with frequency reduced. Also Seattle has been hard hit as of now with travel from/to Seattle down more than 20%.
