An Ojas trip report is always a delight in terms of both the words, as well as the pictures. Nice introduction, as to why you chose this combination.
Nov'14: I guess the lounge was still the make-shift one at the cordoned-off gates. Or may not be, since I do not seem to remember computers being around, or was this a later addition? Or did I not look behind while facing the drinks counter? Or was I too drunk? This is the only lounge I have ever experienced, on an upgrade ticket, in Sep'14. I will post a review of this, hopefully soon.
A J+F combination was awesome...nice that you got the A333 F!
The food looks stylish and interesting for a mere 50min hop.
Did I miss the food part on the first (J) leg? I just see some enticing drinks with warm nuts.
A359 next week on QR? We eagerly look forward to a grand TR.
Thanks a lot for sharing this with us,
Sumantra.

Oh My God: my mistake, but look at the coincidence. I just noted your boarding pass. 14 Sep 2014. And to think that I was there, at that very lounge, on 12 Sep 2014, for my first-ever lounge experience. I was flying J for the second time, and I had reserved my upgrade card for months, just to experience the best J experience in the domestic skies on Air India, on the B77W AI 101 BOM-DEL, and at the gate, I got the shock of my life to see VT-IWB. I was perhaps too tired, or drunk, to figure out from my boarding pass, that 02K on a Boeing 77W, is in the First Class, which is, and
will perhaps always remain, well out of bounds for me.
The row K confused me, since the seating on Air India's B777s
(B77Ls as well as B77Ws) is ABC-DEF-GHK,
and that on Air India's A332s was AB-DEFG-JK.
So, rows A and K are always window seats, in all classes.
However, this extends to the other classes, as well.
In the First class on the B777s, the seating is A-DF-K.
In the Executive/Business class on the B777s, it is AC-DEF-HK.
However, the row numbers do not start from 02, even in the B77Ws.

I can well associate with that heady and sleepy feeling, but I rarely wish off meals! Razz
Cheers, Sumantra.

Super TR Ojas !

I re read it after reading Sumantra Sirs comment that you were in A333 F - I thought I missed the point that because of your luggage they had to send a A33F to do the duty . . but No, you were in F in A330 Very Happy I had read it right !

Another great TR Ojas and good to know that the even in the short legs Qatar Airways J/F have maintained consistent standards. As typically I have seen airlines don’t pay enough attention for short haul sector.

Just curious if you had flown economy and paid excess baggage would that not have been cheaper? Or unless you are a QR employee and you are entitled to AD 100/75 ticket?

This is a revenue, I got this one way J class ticket for INR30K approximately. I had 64Kgs worth of luggage. So even at INR 800/kg at excess, I would have to pay excess bags for 20kgs at least as airlines were offering 30Kg excess.

QR OTOH gave me 50Kg plus hand baggage. So they accepted 64Kgs without any issues.

On staff/standby tickets, you barely have time to sit in the lounge as you get accepted once check in closes. And, yes, I do not work for QR Very Happy

Wow, very unique flights for you, Ojas! That meal does look fantastic for a DOH-DXB hop! How were the loads in the rest of the plane? Y and J?

I eagerly look forward to the A350 TR! Very Happy

Regards
Jish
