Since this is a airline forum, I like to use the National Carrier name rather than the country name playing the World Cup Final in Brazil.

Lufthansa beats Aerolines Aregentina... Smile Very Happy Laughing

Luthansa were the better team throughout this edition of the World Cup. They beating TAM 7-1 in the Semis was the highlight of their dominance in the game.

All of their players performed well and some of them scored goals.

Congratulations to Lufthansa!!!

It is Aerolineas Argentinas Wink

and you could also say that it is a victory of Star Alliance over Skyteam Wink

But honestly, I think both sides were pretty evenly matched in terms of performance. Clearly the best teams made the finals. It was just that stroke of luck for Gotze that turned the tables.

The shocking performance in this edition of the World Cup came from Iberia, with their early exit. Casillas has gone past his prime form. Their defence was weak.

In this World Cup we also saw some of the raising football stars like Rodriguez of Avianca. KLM performed well by finishing in no.3 and defeating Iberia in their opening group match.

TAM had depended too much on their star striker Neymar, that they did not have other players to fill his shoes and become champions.

What about BA? They looked like they were playing just because they were supposed to. No intensity.

And what about TAP Air Portugal with its expensive flagship aircraft ? Turned out to be a real dud Shocked

At least KLM, true to its reputation, performed consistently well till the last stages, even outshining TAM..
