| Why is air India not deploying the 787 on the routes out of Bombay ? Like bom-del or bom-Lhr .. Can it do bom-ewr ? |

BOM-LHR will be on the routemap once ANK/ANJ come in (the former may come in possibly around 18 Dec). BOM-DEL: I guess it may be a tad short for the operating economics. DEL-MAA/BLR look fine, DEL-CCU is only a bit longer than DEL-BOM. BOM-EWR is one of the very few consistent money earners for AI, where AI has operated the 744 in the past. This is perhaps best suited for the 77W, with its capacity. The planes get excellent loads. I do not know about the range-payload-economics for a 788 on BOM-EWR.

The world does not revolve around BOM.
Air India's hub is in DEL - they are (rightly) focusing on developing that first and foremost.
