Since Jet Airways has discontinued BOM-JNB and BRU-JFK and MAA-BRU now, which destination is next ?

I have heard a rumor about DEL-BRU and BRU-YYZ to be next on the hit list.

But dont know if that is true.

Also, i feel that Jet Airways uses the A332 aircraft on BOM-BRU where a B77W is need on a daily basis because of the flight load which leads to higher fares on the sector.

Also, BOM-DXB needs an A332 on atleast 2/4 flights that they use on this sector.

Now with Etihad Airways picking up 24% stake, do we see any new updates post stake.

Hahahahaha!!! I'm glad I stopped using the airline ever since they placed those non-PTVs Boeing on the BOM-DOH route. They are basically making it easier for the competition to just take over the left pieces.

They are in the middle of some deep crap that they themselves created.

Honestly - there's hardly anything left in the kitty to withdraw from! I hope their next move is a new strategy/ hub and relaunching flights using the spanking new 333s they will start receiving.

The YYZ rumor is correct

The new 333 are believed to take over the BOM -BRU -EWR flight

BOM DXB is just fine on the 738s they do need to put a 332 on that route

They might as well maintain a fleet of a Beechcraft Bonanza or two should they choose to diskonnect from whatever few destinations they've got left.

It won't be the worst use of the 77Ws and 332s (who will soon be joined by their big sisters the 333s). Far better than having them doing a fat load of nothing as they do now.

i really hope that they restart SFO service again, but this time with more planning, perhaps from the rumored MUC hub? they can even start now from BRU in my opinion. i think they do have the aircraft to spare?

SFO is planned via HKG, whenever it starts, thats how they'll do it, co-ordinate the DEL/BOM flights, add another Indian point, extend the BOM one to SFO.

Oh yes! Let's replicate Brussels in South China. Because we know how successful BRU has been!

(I suppose points should be given for consistency, like replicating the superb airline-within-an-airline-under-an-airline-alongside-an-airline concept)

And any clarity on their plans heading west out of India?

Do humor a couple of my points,

- There is a lot of demand on India - HKG routes, something not present on India BRU.

- The competition on India - SFO is considerably less than what it was on India - JFK, EWR does well, YYZ is seasonal.

- Routes like MAA/BLR-HKG can be done o 737's.

- would a daily 787 service on HKG-SFO not be sustainable with feeds from MAA/BOMDEL?

After all its a rumor, no one knows whats gonna happen, i just try and justify off a case, because unlike most here, I don't think 9W is full of trash inside.

It's a perfectly valid hypothesis and nothing wrond with picturing different scenarios based on the rumour.

However, weren't we told not five minutes ago that Jet should never (and will never) add tags to the HKG flights because their stratospheric yields will be diluted? Hence why, in their infinite wisdom, they keep two perfectly good planes parked on the tarmac all day, every day?

What's changed now?

And I'm sorry, Jet's failure in New York had nothing to do with New York (or Bombay or Delhi) and everything to do with Jet Airways.

Besides, there is considerably less supply to San Francisco than to New York because there is considerably less demand to San Francisco than there is to New York.

And you really think they're should be going back to Madras and Hyderabad in a hurry when even short bread-and-butter routes like Dubai and Kuala Lumpur failed? For the sake of one 787 flight?

Oh, and most don't think Jet is full of trash inside. Only almost full! Laughing
