I joined this forum for the quality of posts it had.
Oflate i have noticed that the people who posted quality have vanished or are not posting.
Is it just me who is observing this or is it a routine that we must expect from this site.
We are talking about site promotion, i think the need of the hour is Site retention. Members help keep name alive.
I suggest we send an email to all members to take part actively in posting and yes, help AINET a better and quality forum.

Unfortunately ups and downs are a part of any internet based forum without a large pool of active participants. We have a very small pool of participants, and hardly anyone working in the industry (leaving aside a few people). Hence it becomes even more tough to sustain and increase the momentum.
I don't think sending an email to anyone asking them to "participate" is going to help at all.
In situations like this my thought is always "ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for the country". It's really up to each one of us to add to the discussions on the forum to make them more meaningful. It's also important to have people from the industry join and participate, as they can bring the best material to the forum. |

on the positive note! We've just turned 150. Also nice to have Jumbo Jet and Jaysit kicking in spite of momentary air pocket.. _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

Nice to see this site cares about the people and the people care about the people who respond to the site.
I thank everyone who responded with neck deep in glee and honour for their commitment to retain the members and yes to make sure India does it's part for aviation.
@ Nimish
I think if we try and send an email (which i think could be automated) to be sent to all members, that their posts matter, we could have various ideas in the pool. Let us do our bit....what say |

for some reason our hosting provider does not offer this service...either i'll write to them and have it added, or else create one manually, which is time consuming process... _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

Thanks for trying. But if we get it done or do it, then a message will be sent across that AINET i not just another aviation site, but one with a difference.
Remember, no pain no gain. So let's take some pain to get some quality gain |

plan to run an audit of members who haven't posted at all. just to check if they exist in the first place. chances are that some of them might not have got the confirming email and are unaware of their membership. Plan to delete those who don't respond. _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

I am referring to those who haven't posted even once on this forum. Not sure if they exist or not. And if they do then whether they got confirming email or not. I recently sent email to four such persons, and three of them hadn't recieved it and were under impression that their membership was not approved.... _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

@Aseem
See, no pain no gain. If u take the effort to reach out to genuine members, members will reciprocate.
I salutee your efforts.
