Hi all,
I had been working on this one since sometime now, and finally managed to finish it after finding a pair of those 'hard to find' Aeroclub white metal props, since the ones that came with the kit were rather of no use...!
Since I returned from a trip to Thailand and Malaysia last night, (pics from which shall follow soon), I found the spare props waiting for me to be put on the model. Thanks a ton to Brad Shinn to help me route a pair to India.
Anyhow, this one came out much better than expected, after having put in so much effort in getting those wing roots right. Since I dont think this subject would ever by done by any manufacturer in the 1:200 scale, I decided to ahead and make the vacuform kit by Welsh models. Since the kit is pretty old, so I faced a lot of difficulties at numerous places, but all in all I think my effort paved way for this one...
Anyway, I will let the pics do the rest of the talking...

Wow, nice effort that! And a unique one, considering that the HS-748 isn't one of the favourites amongst the modeling community.
The colour scheme on your model, with the 'U shaped' anti-glare paint on the nose, is from the 1960s/1970s. They later changed it to a 'V' shape, sometime in the early 1980s.
I almost grew up flying IC's HS-748s, as I have made countless trips on them. They were lovely airplanes, even if a bit noisy. But the sound of the RR-Dart was always music to my ears! Your model just brought back many memories.
VT-DXF crashed in Mangalore in August, 1981, while attempting to land in wet weather. The airplane skidded off the runway and came to a stop after hitting a big boulder. Miraculously, no one died but the aircraft was written off.
Once again, Congratulations for your model!

Thanks for all that information, really appreciate it! I am glad you liked my model. As for the noisy part of the engines, I could not agree more, as I have myself flown on IC Avros many times if not more.

Thanks a lot Nimish! Stay tuned for some more surprises soon... How bout an IC Caravelle with super details? Or before that how bout an AI A310 in the old colors with flaps down? Sounds interesting!!
