For this I required 25k status miles in 12 months. Now for the next tier Elite (* Gold), I need 40k miles. Now my question is, will the 25k miles that i earned to qualify for Classic Plus, count towards the next tier upgrade or do I start from scratch? On the summary page, the status miles shown does not include the 25k. However when I go to "Calculate Miles for Tier Upgrade" page, this 25k is included in the status miles. Plus the card is valid for 2 years, so that typically means 2 years + the remaining part of the year in which you qualified! Also interesting is "Miles and Smiles members residing outside of Turkey are eligible for elite status renewal if they accrue 25,000 miles within one year of gaining elite status or 37,500 within two years – the lowest re-qualification criteria for a Star Alliance Gold status.". And good to see the SQ miles updated so quickly - generally SQ takes the most time - almost a week before it gets updated (at least based on my past experience)! _________________ We miss you Nalini! TK does not use the calendar 12 months unlike LH. The two years start from the date of upgrade. For e.g. my Silver status is valid till 30-Sep-2013. I have been surprised by the speed at which the FFP miles update happended. The update for LAX-SIN happened less than 6 hours of my flight landing in SIN. Even before I got onto my connecting flight to BLR. The cool thing is they also send you an e-mail notification regarding mile accrual. Of course with the UA/ CO Android app - it's just as real time, but still not a push to you like email... _________________ We miss you Nalini!
