India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation released (21-Jan-2011) the following statistics on denied boardings, cancellations and delays of longer than two hours for Jan-2011:
Denied boardings: 576 passengers affected with compensation of INR16,050 (USD357);
Jet Airways/JetLite: 456 passengers affected with compensation of INR848,000 (USD18,849);
oKingfisher Airlines: 120 passenger affected with compensation of INR757,000 (USD16,826);
•Cancellations: 12,859 passengers affected with compensation of INR848,000 (USD18,849);
oJet Airways/JetLite: 5547 passengers affected with compensation of INR10,000 (USD222);
oKingfisher Airlines: 1552 passengers affected;
oSpiceJet: 1944 passengers affected with compensation of INR838,000 (USD18,626);
oGoAir: 3421 passengers affected;
oIndiGo: 395 passengers affected;
•Delays: 67551 passengers affected with compensation of INR2.8 million (USD61,614);
oJet Airways/JetLite: 16,300 passengers affected;
oKingfisher Airlines: 11,042 passengers affected with compensation of INR761,000 (USD16,915);
oSpiceJet: 17,480 passengers affected with compensation of INR2.0 million (USD44,699);
oGoAir: 12,056 passengers affected;
oIndiGo:10,673 passengers affected.
Note: Air India data was incomplete and DGCA have been asked to revise and resubmit the data. |

The first line does not add up to the 2nd and 3rd lines (Denied boarding of INR 16050 vs. 9W +IT denied boarding of INR1595000), but otherwise it's interesting data.
Is this paid out in the form of cash at the airport, or is this as a voucher? _________________ We miss you Nalini! |
