Bro,

Nice TR. I have always been and continue to be a big fan of 6E and their constant lookout for opportunity.

The rotation on which you travelled, was introduced immediately after IT vacated their parking bay at PNQ. 6E jumped in and snatched it away.

Helped them give a one stop to DEL from PNQ, and completed their product from NAG with a morning NAG-DEL.

Just a few obs,

6E currently has only 25 aircrafts and not 30 as you have mentioned.

Couple of Qs
1. Any idea how much load they were carrying from PNQ to CCU on the other flight
2. About break up of loads on PNQ-NAG and PNQ-DEL leg of your flight
3. Same Q while the return journey, the flight again is DEL-NAG_PNQ, whats the break up of loads on that?

thanks.

Those 25 and not 30 fact was from wiki actually, so I take your point that it has 30 a/cs.

as for your questions

1. Can't say, but from the check-in queues and the boarding queues they were definitely having more than 120 pax.

2. Outbound almost 150 of 180 got down at NAG.

3. Inbound I have no idea as I was in the last batch to board. So couldn't figure if the pax were from NAG or DEL.

they have some of the most wonderful rotations for our conditions, where in the right feed is available.

now they would have 5 flights to CCU from DEL, but one would feed DIB , one would feed IXA and the rest are peak times !

and then they are the first to have same aircraft to DIB, IXA from DEL.

Loads of govt machinery goes that way, which itself gives you lot of traffic.

To the best of my knowledge, 6E has taken deliveries so far of 30 planes, of which 5 were sent back, and currently they have only 25, 2 will be added in June.

Hi the report was interesting.

I actually tried 6Efor the first time last month bet PNQ-DEL; I liked the service. But the PAX felt that the AC was not sufficient - we were almost sweating! The landing was smooth both at NAG and DEL.

Hi Ojas,
Nice TR. I flew Indigo 6E 135 way back in 2007, That time i flew DEL-NAG and the eqpt was VT-IND.

Just a small fact. Pune airport is still Under Air Force operations which it shares with AAI. ATC services are manned by IAF and all nav facilities too.

Friction bw IAF and AAI has been going on for long. IAF base is located for protection of our sea assets as well as protection of Mumbai city. This is, therefore, one of the more active bases of IAF. Major part of the airport is occupied by IAF. So civilian expansion of the airport is constraint and there were talks recently of a new airport.

Cheers
Shivendra

Well as long as the IAF and AAI take efforts to increase the runway length to accommodate wide bodies ..... and that they increase the number of bays side ways to park many more aircraft, everything is fine. As of now IAF allows 24 X 7 operations, so nothing much to complain on that front.

Nice TR. Had a few observations though.

According to the DGCA photography is STRICTLY prohibited at all defense bases, no ifs and buts there. Hence I had to sneak a few pictures from my cell phone camera.

Not exactly true. The AIC of 2005 clearly states :

Quote:
the restrictions on photography at a Government Aerodrome as specified in Rule 13 of the said rules shall not apply to the terminal buildings of:
(a) Civil Aerodromes; and
(b) Civil enclaves at defence aerodromes

After that he said "For those of you interested in aviation or who belong to the aviation world ... our aircraft today is an A320 -232, seating 180, mach no, speed, thrust of engines..." and few other details. I felt this was nice when he addressed specifically to all the aviation enthusiasts.

This seems to be a standard PA these days. Traveled in 6E twice last month and both time i heard the same PA from the flight deck

@ iflttb20

thanks. Try taking out a camera casually at PNQ airport and you will have 10 people reminding you that photography is a illegal at airports like PNQ. Now next time I can take a copy of this rule and throw it on their faces.

I guess Ai.net/A.net is 6E's new "catchment" area Razz

Ojas, very lucid and comprehensive TR. Your vivid descriptions almost make the reader feel as if he/she was right there with you! About the photography rule, please see the TR/BR I posted a few hours back, on my recent DEL-NAG-NDC and NDC-BOM-DEL trip. It did not help, unfortunately.
Cheers, Sumantra.
