Hello guys.
i just read that kingfisher airlines is going to join one world.
similalry, jet airways will join star alliance and airindia will also be joining star alliance.
A thought came to me,that we should make a difference.
Instead of joining other foreign allances and teams,we should make one for ourselves.
How about creating S.A.S.I. ALLIANCE?
meaning
South Asian International Alliance.
These european and americans are again invading india, but this time through aviation.
I think that SASI alliance should be launched, having only south asian airlines.
for example;-
SAFI AIRWAYS from AFGHANISTAN.
PIA from PAKISTAN.
AIR INDIA from INDIA.
DRUK AIR from BHUTAN.
NEPAL AIRLINES from NEPAL.
GMG AIRLINES from BANGLADESH.
SRILANKAN AIRLINES from SRILANKA.
By making such alliance,it will benefit the people of south asia.
You see,jet airways was founded in 1990s.from its start,it was very good carrier, but some analysts says that the service standards have declined.
Star alliance was founded in 1997.
Then why star alliance didnt invited 9W at that time?
Probably,at that time, they do not think that it will benefit their people.
But now they realized that by making staralliance member in india, their people can get benefit.
so,they are making indian airlines as members, fot their own benefit.they have no interest in our benefit.
Another instance of the ill behaviour of westerns, you know about AIR FRANCE ill behaviour with indian passengers at PARIS CDG.
It should serve as an eye opener to us.
so,i think that we should make an indigenous alliance in s.asia and should think and work for the benefit of people of south asia.
if this kind of alliance came into being, connectivity will improve, enhancing people to peole contact and enhance trade in s.asia.
your replies are welcome.

Alliances are not there for national, territorial or geographical pride.
What are you going to do with a South Asian alliance? Alliances are there to offer better connections to passengers from all continents giving equal business opportunities to alliance members. |

Precisely!
Having an all Sub-Continental airline alliance makes no sense, by doing this, essentially, this alliance will be declaring dominance between the following destinations, DEL/KTM/DAC/CMB/KHI/LHE/BOM/MAA.... That's pretty much useless!
P.s, have a look at the list of airlines! I bet the company red ink will run dry while printing the combined annual financial results! _________________ Causal Determinism : We are hardwired to need answers. Not to mention that half of the above mentioned airlines merely fly flying pieces of metal vis a vis Safi Airways, Nepal Airlines, Biman, GMG...... _________________ Yeah. |

no,i think you guys get me wrong.
another thing, there are other regional alliances, though not operational.
for example AACO,AEA,NAA etc.
for example,i am travelling from ISLAMABAD to CHENNAI.
now, first i will have to go to lahore, then from lahore to delhi, then stay at delhi without lounge facilities for quite large time then i will get from delhi to chennai.
if the following alliance exists,i can get maximum benefits,
for example,i can get lounge facilites, coordinated flight schedules mean minimum coonecting time.
codeshare agreement will also be great.
PIA is currently getting low yields ex india.
AI will sell pia seats.
indians, wanting to go to barcelona or kabul or mashad or milan can easily pick up pia flight.
similarly pakistanis can catch AI flights to singapore, kathmandu, shanghai, yangoon and etc.
coordinated flight schedules and codesharing will help thease airlines, write their results in green ink.
so,in my opinion,it will be very usefull. |

SASI (even if they roped in 9W, IT, 6E and everyone else) doesn't offer anything to passengers. It's the same airlines flying to the same destinations. Pretty horrible airlines i might add with a limited route network.
If someone wanted to fly from Islamabad to Chennai, well code-sharing is an option, but an all out alliance? What lounge facilities do you want? And quite frankly look at the scope, what numbers can these other airlines offer most are tiny airlines with tiny airports with a few hundred passengers a day?
This has nothing to do with Europeans and Americans invading India- let's not look at this from a nationalistic point of view. Star Alliance didn't invite any Indian member 10 years ago because they didn't need too, what did Jet Airways have to offer back then? Nothing really. Well they do now and global alliances will try and snap up who they can. So far AI and IT, presumably 9W in the near future.
There are more people flying from Bangalore to Geneva than Pakistan-Bhutan-Nepal-Bangladesh. A global alliance offers exponentially more than any SASI would.
What do you mean benefit their people? If Kingfisher joining OW doesn't benefit both IT passengers and OW what the heck is the point? Of course the alliance benefits and of course they have a stake in the airlines benefit. Alliances are the airline(s)!
What the heck is the ill behaviour of westerners in this instance? Not a very smart generalization.
In the Air France incident passengers who had visas were allowed to get hotels but many did not. Now we can argue about how they need a system in place to deal with this very probably eventuality but that doesn't point to ill behaviour
Quite frankly if an Indian aircraft got stranded in Pakistan i doubt every passenger would be given visas to enter the country- even they would sit in the terminal for a day. _________________ eP007 |
