This question is to all the photographers.
Given that Airliners.net currently has 1609 airline pics taken from India as compared to Jetphotos.net which has 4746 pics from India.
Which of these sites do you guys prefer to upload your airline pics?and which one of them do you think has better quality?
cheers. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |

Airliners.net any day!
Although there are some doubts and concerns about the screening methods and logic with both sites, A.net has higher quality standards overall. Jetphotos.net comes second...
In my initial days of aviation photography, I used to upload my rejected photos from Airliners.net to Jetphotos.net, and more often than not, they used to go through.
I am sure others may have their own opinion, but as far as my experience is concerned, I have found Airliners.net to have a more stringent (sometimes to the point of driving one insane) photo acceptance criteria.

I am so pissed off with their criteria that I don't try to upload to any. They want photos to be their way, and kill all your creativity. I am happy with my Flickr. _________________ [url=http://openflights.org/user/aseemsjohri]

The queues on JP are insane...I love flickr...no queue and screening. |

A.net has "stringent" criteria which to me is totally utopian! I don't want to even begin to delve on the double standards and racism involved!
Jp.net is more liberal , flexible and has a good team of screeners ! I'd say they're numero uno and they trump a.net any day !
But amusingly , i've had pictures rejected on all sites but accepted on a.net ....lol
So at the end of the day as far as i'm concerned.... edit your pics to the best of your ability , upload and wait and watch the results...! |

I'am surprised that Airliners.net has not accepted many night pics taken from Indian airports. Some of the pics taken during the night at VABB and VOBL are amazing and shows how the Indian aviation is improving in leaps and bounds.
Except for few night pics, most of the others are uploaded only in JP.net.I don't know whats wrong with those pics interms of quality.
Infact some of the pics in JP.net are much better than those in AI.netI don't know if you guys agree on this.It is just my thought. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |

Couldn't agree with you more...i can post links to dozens of pics on a.net that reek of 1) oversharpening - jaggies galore) 2) oversaturation - over enhanced colours that burn your eyes...absolutely horrible! 3) grain/noise- which is so in-your-face!
According to me ,these are some of the reasons why Jp.net has surpassed a.net as the No.1 global aviation photo database ! |

Totally agree. A.net is very consistent and professional. They have their rules (may be not in line with traditional composition rules) but if you follow them, with a few trials you could get shots accepted.
JP is not a professional looking site with those annoying pop-up ads. |

Two of your pics of Air Cargo Germany at VABB are good were it shows the busy scenes of the airport. One of them which has UPS cargo B744F taking off in the background is one of my favourite.
Those two pics are in JP.net and not in AI.net.To me,AI.net may have the best rules of uploading an airline pics but that alone should not be the crieteria for accepting pics.
They should also consider the place and the type of shots been taken.I find it boring when I see AI.net uploads pics of acfts landing at Heathrow. There are plenty of them already.Instead they should upload airline pics which are from new airports. _________________ www.flickr.com/G-BYGB photos |
