Varun, superb picture report! A picture says more than a thousand words. This has got to be the most thorough picture report to date, from Nedumbassery Airport, Kochi, India's first public-private partnership venture, and India's first A80 compatible airport! Nice that you could catch the AI 744 at COK. Did VT-KAK not have the drop-down LCD screens for the IFE?
Cheers, Sumantra. |

I was wondering how you found the seats on the ATR. Last few trips, the IT ATRs seem to have very disappointing thigh support with the portion on the seat below the thighs floppy and quite uncomfortable. _________________ My Flickr photos

Nope, none at all! perhaps somebody here knows which regs have them, and which don't? KAK is not an ex-DN bird so this was surprising.

I would give the seats 3/5. They weren't the best around but shouldn't be too much of a problem for the sub 2hr sectors that these ATRs are flown on.

AI has a 744 operation to BOM from COK but since it was parked at the International terminal, I suppose it was coming in from RUH, JED or DMM. _________________ Yeah. |

Nice TR & great photos, Varun.
The COK airport building is quite unique in design. I don't know any other Indian airport that captures the local heritage & culture the way COK reflects. _________________ Tally Sheet:

Thanks for checking it out. Yes, COK is a unique airport in that regard, unlike the generic glass and concrete terminals at HYD, BLR or DEL. _________________ Yeah. |
