AI operates BOM-DEL and then to some European destination... does that count?
BTW awaiting to see the shortest flight on the A380 think if EK operates the A380 to India then that might be the one

Actually shorter then that is BOM-AMD. 275 mi.
Use for BOM-AMD-BOM-CDG-EWR and sometimes BOM-AMD-LHR routes.

The shortest was once:
Air India's Riyadh-Trivandrum-Cochin-Mumbai flight on B747-400.

Then became Riyadh-Mumbai-Cochin-Trivandrum and now discontinued.

Trivandrum-Cochin took just 25 minutes.

Actualy I want to know which airline operates int'l short routes on its 744 bcoz u usually come across airlines operating these routes with either a short- haul or a medium haul jet.It would be interesting to see SQ,TG or MH upgrading their routes to India with a 744 someday.

SQ might operate to india with 747s because there is a good load factor to Singapore from india... especially on SIN-MAA-SIN

We cant really count AI here for two reasons. Firstly, AI's short routes are actually a part of longer routes.

Secondly many of the routes that AI operate with 74Xs are for the lack of a more appropriate aircraft nor because they need such a large aircraft on that route.

SO considering these factors I would say that some Japanese carriers would be the shortest 74X operators. Infact they use a special short haul version of 747s if I am not mistaken.

Cheers

Yes ANA and JL have those high density all coach class "mega sardine cans" with even eco in upper deck.

Yeah but thats a part of a longer flight. ie BAH-LHR.

We are talking about individual routes like the SIN-MAA-SIN.

Cheers

SQ 528/529 operates 7x week and not 6xweek.

Isn't SQ 7931 supposed to be a cargo flight? Confused

AI 821 DEL-RUH(Riyadh)-DEL is operated once a week with a 744.

Mayank

Yups its a cargo flight. Singapore is dying to make its air agreement with india much more liberalised. And i bet the day this happens DEL would go Double daily. Infact last to last year SQ operated extra flights to DEL 4 times a week during the winter peak season.

As far as MAA is concerned MH uses a 747 on KUL-MAA-KUL rotation.
