Mods - Suggest we go the Team-BHP way. THrow out these offenders and screen the list of existing members - reverify the antecedents of the "sleeping members" and delete if you dont get a response. |

Guys - we're trying to get this fixed. Unfortunately the forum hosting provider does not give us too many options, and hence we have this issue. However we are trying to figure out some options. _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

Maybe Approve membership to Individuals that can contribute data to the forum or genuine aviation enthusiasts.....By asking them to post atleast once. _________________ Think of the Brighter side !!! |

As TKMCE said above, we can ask them to write a brief intro about them and stating their interest in aviation. That would serve as a big deterrent to potential spammers. _________________ My Flickr photos

The same procedure is done when joining IRFCA. Everyone registering wirtes a brief essay about their interest in Indian Railways and how they would contribute to the group.
However, I think the intro should be done while registering, so that it can be reviewed before approving the membership, though I would not like to be the mod who has to review the intros before approving. _________________ http://openflights.org/user/akumanduri |

the problem is to approve members on a regular basis.... what happens is that sometimes the approval gets delayed, and that also generates negative feelings, or potential members feel they are not wanted... |

Hey folks,
More pm spam, this time from username RobertTaylor. I expect you'll want to delete that account too.
Pobably the same person or organisation responsible, due to the similarity of the message content (I don't seem to be able to forward my pm's, otherwise I'd send a copy to the mods).
Cheers,
Dan |
