I second that. Maybe it would look good on a 737. Haven't seen many retro schemes on heavies before.

Some how the first generations 741 with their upper deck lounges (3 windows set far apart), shorter upper decks and smaller engine nacelles always did have an air of elegance and of being the blue riband of flying compared to the later 743s and 744s with their longer upper decks and bigger engines.
That said, it does seem that Thai's earlier livery was inspired by SAS's. Even the font, the placement of the coat of arms on the cheat lines look similar in idea. Of course the SAS one looks miles better.
This is one retro aircraft, livery combination that simply doesnt make the grade. |
