Wadiyar's Sky Palace to take off this year

Bangalore, Mar. 4
Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar is joining Vijay Mallya of King-fisher Airlines and Captain Gopinath of Air Deccan, the two Kannadigas who are in the forefr-ont of private airline operators.

Wadiyar is reported to be planning to launch his airline this year reflecting the characteristics of Mysore Palace and its management. The airline will be known as Sky Palace and will fly on both domestic and interna-tional routes. While 21 aircrafts will provide link to destinations within the country, seven other aircrafts will link cities outside India, Wadiyar disclosed to the media.

Sky Palace has already been registered. A sum of 100 million US dollars will be invested initially. Many NRIs as well as foreign agencies have shown interest in the new enterprise, according to Wadiyar.

The decision on which make of aircrafts are to inducted into the airline has not yet been taken finally. 'When I travelled in Bombardier aircraft recently, I got the impression that it was ok,' Wadiyar said.

'It was true that there was severe competition among airline operators. It was also true that there is a rise in the number of travellers by air. It is the quality of service that ultimately wins in the competition. It is also the comforts that are offered,' he opined.

'I cannot say that the fares will be low in Sky Palace . There will be priority for the services and comforts demanded and appreciated by the customers. The airline will encash on those factors,' he added.

Sky Palace airlines will also have two executive jets. The facilities of Board Room, tele-conferencing and other modern amenities which can be rented by anybody will be provided in Sky Palace jets, Wadiyar said, adding that the comforts available abroad will also come to India without much delay.

Sorry to say, but the Maharajah hasn;t been exactly Richard Branson in some of his business ventures.
Can;t say anything more as there are links between the Mysore Palace and our great Prince of Bharatpur.

Confident Group plans airline charter service

Targets existing clients; slated for launch in 2 months

While the `timeshare' owners of the flying birds have the option of using it for their personal travel, they could also avail of the revenue-share opportunity with the company.

Bangalore March 8 A city-based real estate group sees synergy in its proposal to launch a chartered airline service that could build its capacity from the company's elite clientele.

The service, slated for launch in two months, could tap the potential within the group's hotel project as well.

Confident Group, with a strong presence in the luxury apartment and villa segment of the real estate market, would be acquiring six- to eight-seater aircraft with a Rs 40-crore investment and offer it on a fractional ownership to both individuals and small corporates.

While the `timeshare' owners of the flying birds have the option of using it for their personal travel, they could also avail of the revenue-share opportunity with the company.

Unless this this is a JOKE, here is an observation. The owner says he recently travelled in a Bombardier and it "looked ok!!??"..So if he had travelled in a CEssna, it would have been all the same to him? I seriously wonder if the PRIMARY vehicle of your business (literally Wink ) can be chosen as per your whim...
Sky Palace sounds like some rundown highway dhaba that is your only resort on a long tiring night journey.
