Since I'm not pregnant, I guess I'm in the "boring lot" category
I prefer a jetway - just cuts down on the queues and waiting, and also good when in cold countries, rain, snow etc. Not to forget tight connections and having to wait for the entire 747 to discharge into the bus before the bus leaves for the terminal... _________________ We miss you Nalini! |

I prefer jetways if they are transparent, like the ones at DXB or HYD. It feels great to stand at the door of the aircraft and yet be able to see all around it. _________________ Yeah. |

For domestic flights I would rather use the aerobridge. It just makes things quicker.
Now if I was flying a bigger beast and/or a new airport then it’s a different story _________________ eP007 |

I prefer jetways, they are more efficient, and they are better for rainy/cold climates like where I live. For the added view, I like the transparent/glass jetways quite a bit. A few weeks ago I was at JFK on a very rainy day, and my NW flight to MSP boarded via bus. No time for any ramp views or anything. I had to wait on the bus while other passengers got into the aircraft, and then make a mad dash for the aircraft. I cannot imagine what it would be like to board via bus on a cold day in January. _________________ http://openflights.org/user/akumanduri |

I recall that at RAJ & UDR, it is "optional" for one, to use the Bus service between the Terminal Building and the Aircraft. I always prefer to walk to the aircraft although photography on the tarmac is looked down upon, especially under the CISF Security Cover. _________________ The more I fly 9W, the more I prefer AI | FlightDiary: 59 Boeing + 30 Airbus + 9 ATR + 1 Embraer |

Jetway for me.
It used to be ramp until I was flying AMS-VIE-BOM on OS/NG and I put my jacket and thermals into my check-in luggage after I got into the terminal at Schiphol, thinking I wouldn't need them again for the trip as I'd spend all my time in airport terminals after that, especially since I'd had jetways for the whole of my inbound BOM-VIE-AMS leg. Big fucking mistake. An hour or so later we landed in Vienna, in mid-January record-low temperatures of minus 4°C and heavy snow, our Lauda Air 737 parked at a remote bay, and I was the first passenger onto the second bus. The bus door stayed open for about 10 mins till everyone boarded, and I've got to say, those were the longest 10 mins of my life. I don't know if any of you have tried surviving 10 minutes in sub-zero temperatures with just a cotton shirt and linen trousers on you, but trust me, it isn't fun.
Saw an A320 in the Austrian vintage colours, but trust me, I couldn't have cared less if it was an A380 in Boeing house colours, I just wanted to get the hell out of that freezing weather |

I just love this pic..conveys a very intimate atmosphere..who knows, one may even get a chance to strike a nice conversation, perhaps network..rather like waiting outside a bus while its being repaired.. |

Nice observation, @ssbmat! This pic also reminds me of the one with the pride of lions sleeping under the shadow of the wing of a small plane in Africa - a Let 410?
Cheers, Sumantra. |
