Pvt airline abandons 150 passengers for 18 hours

As many as 150 passengers of a GoAir flight were stranded at the Bangalore airport for at least 18 hours without food and water.

The flight to Delhi was supposed to leave Bangalore airport at 2130 hours IST on Thursday but left on Friday afternoon. Passengers alleged that the flight stood on the tarmac for many hours and airline officials didn’t help them or explained what was happening.

The flight took off but then returned to Bangalore airport. After waiting for hours on board the aircraft on the tarmac, passengers were given tickets for another airline.

a CJ at CNN IBN reported that the crew had abandoned the aircraft after their flying time had elapsed. He had also shown the video where all 120 ppl were on the tarmac. Crew was later flown from DEL to take charge..

Jeh Wadia has apologised to the pax for the delay. A monetary compensation is being looked into.

"PTI said because of "duty time limitation", which bars pilots from flying after being on the job for specified number of hours, the flight could not take off."
Fair enough, but it’s unacceptable to treat passengers like that. If problems do arise (and they will), the airline must be responsible for:
1) keeping the passengers up to date
2) accommodating them on another flight at the earlier (even if it's another carrier.

Such preposterous behaviour.

I think GO Air is the first to wind up (Discussion is currently underway in another thread).

Signs of the Bubble Burst Beginning.....

If FDTL had lapsed they could have taken the 4hrs extension, else positioned a replacement crew or Finally brief the Pax.
