Just wondering how many others have this as a hobby. Building aircraft models from the kit.

Presently i am working on a 1:72 Ju-88 from Revell

Some progress pics :

80% assembly and 40% painting completed. Hope ti finish it within 2-3 more days. Then i go on to another one - He-177

About 7-8 yrs ago i had made 218 such models ,80% of them in 1:144 scale and those of fighter jets,

I completed all barring the painting as i sucked at that,

Unfortunately while shifting houses last April, they all broke as the movers put a heavy carton case over them which crushed almost all,

Needless to say i stick to readymade die casts after that

Frankly, i'm amazed at the number of Hobbies you have. You are into Gaming (i'm told), FS, CFS, and this.....and what not. I thought pilots only Fly..Sleep..Fly..Sleep... Laughing

We have a Gem of a Member here! Hats Off, Captain.

About the Model: WOW. Any Links from where we can source these DIY Kits.

You missed Photography Wink

I do these to break the monotony of the usual "fly - sleep - fly" pattern. And other than green coloured hands, it is very rewarding.

These are few of the many manufacturers - Airfix, Hasegawa, Tamiya and Revell. Out of these Revell is the largest and Airfix one of the oldest.

The only problem i've faced is the lack of supplies - Tools, paints etc. So to some extent i had to well "substitute" the tools with the ones avbl here. Thankfully i found a source of paint in Bahrain Very Happy

PS : Tomorrow i will be starting my next build - An 1:72 Revell He177.

Great job - the a/c looks sweet - especially the lettering on the side has come out well...

This is my next build. Judging by its size and my lack of resources, earliest ETA for its completion is Mid-June Sad

Parts temporarily stuck together using tape to check fitting.

Size as compared to the Ju88

PS: Try to ignore the mess Wink

My He177 project has been "temporarily" shelved due to lack of "certain" resources. So i have proceeded to my next build - An Junkers Ju87 "Stuka" Dive bomber.

The Ju87 is 95% assembled and 80% finished. Only thing left is to attach one more bomb, touch up the paint and of course apply all the markings. Hope to finish it by tomorrow.

Side view.

Underside view with my pathetic attempt at weathering it.
