HELLO..

I STAY IN MUMBAI.. I HAV HEARD MNY MEMBERS SAY RUNWAY 27.. 28 AND SO ON... I HAV NO IDEA WHICH ONES ARE THEY...

CAN NE ONE EXPLAIN ME THE DIRECTIONS OR NE THING ?
SUPPOSE.. IF THE PLANE IS CMG OVER JUHU BEACH TOWARDS AIRPORT? WHICH ONE IS THAT?? OR PLANE CMG OVER GHATKOPAR AREA TOWARDS AIRPORT FOR LANDING??


PLEAZ HELP.

well as far as i know they are no .s assigned at the end points of the runway now mumbai's main runway is 09-27 one if ur approaching from juhu u will land from the 09 side and from mahim creek u will land from the 27 side which usually all a/c are directed to use


the other intersecting runway of mumbai is numbered as 14-32


o btw look on google earth u can c the runway clearly

9 refers to 90 degreess..and obviously 27 to 270 degrees.....one side of the runway is 180 degrees plus the other side.

runway 9 is the opposite of runway 27 (a full 180 degrees opposite) and likewise 27 is 180 degrees opposite 09..

runway 27 is at the ghatkopar end of the city... while runway 09 is the santacruz end of the city.. so if u were to land on 09... you would be approaching over the highway... if u were on 27... which is the most heavily used end.. you would fly in over ghatkopar

In 360Deg Compass rose.The Runways at BOM are Aligned at 140/320 deg & 90/270degs.
The Shortform referrs to as Runway 09-27 & 14-32
