Overweight man sues Air France over seat row
PARIS (Reuters) - An overweight passenger has sued Air France after being told he was too fat and had to pay for a second seat to accommodate his bulk.
Jean-Jacques Jauffret, a French scriptwriter, told Reuters on Wednesday he had felt humiliated by Air France staff who had measured his waist in public at New Delhi airport in 2005 and decided he was too big for a single seat.

Well I agree with 380, I think the airline is correct in this case. I mean which passenger would want to be sitting next to a guy who takes off half his seat and his handrest??? I think Southwest make overweights pay for 2 seats and I think thats fair enough.

Needless to say its yes...
But about that shame and all stuff one man would take just one... ask for some refils and eventually make it as good as two.
A Japenese sumo wrestler was once travelling from BOM to DEL... he had arrived from HKG in CX, the engg had already merged the two seats by removing the armrest from between and something... and that man took meals equivalent to 4 seats!!! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Why didn't they just give him a J seat instead of going through all the trouble of removing armrests and the like. Well our Indian careers anyway upgrade at will.

Dude it was the first seat in the J class... you expect a Sumo wrestler from Japan visiting India for quite a famous tournament as a guest would be offered Y class? Even if they did he qould have himself upgraded it... _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld
