Yes clearly only 1 FA I do remember that, heck even checked-in baggages were right behind the last seat.
But then that FA was nice, she served "snacks" on that short 30 min leg and some soft drinks.

Yeah, my sis remembers working a full meal service plus free flowing booze on the short BOM-GOA flights on the 732s.

avbuff wrote:
Oh another addition to that is also East west airlines, again it was some exotic aircraft, some 60 -70 people could fit in and the aircraft was in a 2-2 configuration.

I dare say that was the Fokker F-27 that East West operated.

Good to know that I'm not the only one in here to remember all this, though it seems that I'm the only one to have flown the 707s, which makes me feel old at 32!!

LOL, there is every possibility I may have flown it if you can recollect whether the AI B707's were operated on the BOM - DOH routes. My first flight however was on the AI A300 I guess in May 1984 , but that is all that my dad can remember.

I dare say they did, so you might be one of the lucky few ! Would have to check my Dad's old flight logs to be certain...too bad they are in BOM, but someday we should be able to solve the mystery!!

Damania NEVER operated props: they did plan to get some B1900's that eventually went to another airline called Gujarat Airways.

Damania only had 5 737-200's: all hand me downs from Air Portugal.

The turboprops were not in Damania livery, but were all white.

And the airline was Damania airways which I'm dead sure about.

LOL Dude, did you not read the previous posts ?? I think the fact that they DID operate a turboprop on the BOM-PNQ run has been established beyond a shadow of doubt by a former employee. So avbuff's memory does serve him right after all!

Vikramv2 if you have the flight details [usually on your boarding pass stub] of that US Domestic flight in 2000 from JFK , one can get the details of the flight from one of the US dot websites.

You will just need the flight number and date of travel

If it was a small prop, it probably was a Saab 340. A big(ger) prop would be an ATR-42 or 72

D2 had only 4 732s (PDA through PDD) & not all came from TAP. I believe 2 came from Bavarian, if I'm not mistaken.

Here's an interesting article from back in '94

Damania is seeking clearance for three Bandeirantes for services out of Bombay

Yup, there used to be an NEPC that operated F-27s & were pretty popular back in the day. They actually took over Damania Airways & were re-branded as Skyline-NEPC. The D2 732s did operate in hybrid colors, with the D2 logo on the tail & "Skyline-NEPC" titles. I saw the last D2 survivor in this avatar at BOM in 2006.

Sorry, Ojas - it is not quite updated. I see some entries cut-and-pasted
from the matter in your 09 Jun 2008 post.

some ATR sized aircraft 60-70 ppl could be seated.

Can you please update the above entries - after the discussion with
747-237 and others in this forum? B732 for Damania and F27(?) for
East-West airlines, for instance?
And yes - you do fly a lot, and thanks for sharing your logs with us.
Cheers, Sumantra.
