We call ourselves as a developing country ... i would also like to edit it to 'ever-developing'. I know many of you would want to raise arguments out here but seriously im not interested to entertain all such things expecially after what i say 2 days ago.
My area Thaur Village, Kandivali happens to be the most upcoming area in BOM after lokhandawala, Andheri ... this is as per the media ... and no doubts to it also ... it is a very posh and a developed area. 2 days ago me and a few friends of mine were going to college at around 10.30 AM in the morning. We happened to see a dog ( allright even thats a living being with a right to survive) and it was lying dead in the middle of the road with blood all around it. The scene was pretty bad for weak hearted people to bear. Accodring to what had happened the dog must have been hit by a vehicle.
But as we returned home at around 4.30PM it was still lying there... no BMC authorities came to clear it. Seeing this i suggested my friends that we could call them up. but my friend happened to have a horrible experience related to such an incident:
Two years ago he saw a dead cat while returning from classes on his cycle and called up the police asking them to contact BMC. But the police asked him his address and he promptly gave it. Later that day one BMC officer accompanied by police visit his house and ask him to pay a fine for 'killing the cat'
So he prompted me not to do anything but just be a part of the hundreds of people who pass by the dead dog
Anything you would like to share of the same kind pls go ahead _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

About Thakur Village, the traffic situation on the Highway right in front is also quite bad. Have heard horror stories from my colleagues regarding the traffic out there. _________________ My Flickr photos

It is reality that administration in BOM is totally a mess. Look at the way the WE highway is being widened.. The work is just going on and on and on with no signs of completion, even though it was scheduled to be completed about 1.75 years ago.
Moreover, every day, a new spot for traffic jams is getting created on this road.
On one hand they talk about a signal free ride from Dahisar to Bandra, but within the past one month tow signals have come up between borivali & Kandivali on this road & both of them cause traffic snarls.
No one in the administration cares about welfare of Mumbai, they only want to fill their pockets. I am not talking about the current ruling party only, all political parties are of the same type. Not a single political party deserves power. _________________ MRVC Mania. My blog dedicated to the new violet-white suburban rakes of Mumbai. |

They seem to have delivered on that part (as hardly anybody follows the traffic signals, atleast in Bombay).
If you happen to have a green signal., the way is blocked by some a$$ who tired to beat the signal and make a quick turn and failed. When its red, most of the people (esp. ricks) seem to take the vehicle forward with impunity. Am actually more nervous when I see the signal is red, as I am not sure when a three wheeled pest will poking his nose in front of me. _________________ My Flickr photos

It was supposedly involved in a dispute over military land. the dispute is resolved now & u can expect the flyover to be ready in two to three years (going by the speed of works in Mumbai) _________________ MRVC Mania. My blog dedicated to the new violet-white suburban rakes of Mumbai. |

I think some environmentalists might protest against the flyover now, as on the western side a flourishing garden is developing.
There also quite a few slums on the flyover at present. By the time, they build free flats for them (under SRA) it might be more than a few years. _________________ My Flickr photos

It's just sickening. How long has that been there now? |

The flyover was there for some time now.
But I noticed the gardens and hutments last monsoon (I was out of the country for long). They could have been there for some time. They are starting to get a look of permanence.
I have been waiting for the flyover to come for a long time. It will make my commute easier. _________________ My Flickr photos

Yes. The flyover will make the lives of motorists as well as train commuters easier. Presently, many trains wait for more than 5 minutes at the Level crossing at Kandivali waiting for it to close. _________________ MRVC Mania. My blog dedicated to the new violet-white suburban rakes of Mumbai. |

Or wait in the traffic jam at Malad subway. God knows that's a nightmare. At least for Kandivali it's good that the Borivali flyover is now there. |
