Hi guys... Wikipedia claims that Kingfisher has also been a pioneer airline in introducing in-flight entertainment in its ATRs in their article on ATR http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATR ..
Any idea if this is true?! and if yes, which route do they operate on?! |

I did not know. Haven't heard anything much regarding them or seen any pics of them. Does anybody have any pics of these CD ATRs. _________________ My Flickr photos

CD does operate ATRs but currently most are grounded due to shortage of pilots. By the way Kingfisher is the first airline to introduce IFE's for their ATR fleet. _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld

Yes, there are 4 ATR 42's that are used by Alliance Air Exclusively to the routes in NE. They all are based in Kolkata and start their routein from there daily. This picture is taken at GHY airport. Can easily recoginise the departure area and the ATC terminal building here.
Cheers

Not that the ATR has great lines or is visually appealing/striking, but the Alliance Air livery makes it look like its been a Military hand-me-down!!
The tail on the ATR seems like its been fabricated by school children during their Craft classes |

Also, they seem to be giving AF a run for their money in the exterior finish. _________________ My Flickr photos

Amazingly there's hardly anyone here that is from NE India or aviation related to that part of the country. Infact GHY is a beautiful airport and kind of reminds me of St Marteens coz on approach to GHY there a lake just short of the threshold. Lake ends, a road of AF Stn, and then runway starts. I have been lucky enough to stand beneath an arriving airbus. The feeling is Amazing.
Cheers
