After the launch of Chandrayaan, ISRO will now open a centre for atmospheric studies near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
ISRO will also start a human space programme centre -- astronaut training and biomedical engineering centre in Anantapur district.
To be called part of the Human Spaceflight Programme (HSP), the centre for training India astronauts will be set up alongwith the Indian Institute of Aviation, Medicine, Bangalore.
ISRO will also upgrade the Nationak Atmospheric Research Laboratory at Gadanki, near Tirupati. It is engaged in fundamental research related to atmospheric and space sciences and developing various types of radars and lidars for atmospheric studies.
In this connection a laboratory for developing flight instruments will be set up near Tirupati.
Andhra CM has said he will make sure that these centres are set up in Andhra. |
