Lalu's in-laws caught for travelling ticketless
Chhapra (Bihar), Feb13 (ANI): In what could be virtually an embarrassing incident for Rail Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his parents-in-law were caught travelling ticketless in the AC first class coach of Sampark Kranti Express in Chhapra on Tuesday. The train was going to New Delhi from Muzzafarpur.
Shiv Prasad Chaudhry and his wife, parents of former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, were caught near the Chhapra Railway Station while they were travelling from Hajipur to Siwan.
They were caught when the train ticket examiner discovered that Chaudhry and his wife were ticketless during the ticket checking drive instituted by East Central Railway.
What is more embarrassing about the incident is that Chhapra is the Railway Minister's constituency.
Railway sources said that they would be fining in conformity with the rules and issue tickets in order to legalise their journey.
Rabri Devi's family has been in controversy before also. Last year, Lalu's brother-in-law, Sadhu Yadav and Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Yadav tried to make authorities at Patna junction to change platforms assigned to Rajdhani and Sampoorna Kranti Express.

It was hilarious when I read the headline in IE.
BTW, what is the meaning of this, "legalize their journey". |

Off topic, I heard Navjot Sidhu is trying to get reelected (not sure as a member of parliament or whatever)
Didn’t he get arrested for manslaughter or something similar? _________________ eP007 |

Their explanation for the incident is that Lalu's in-laws had a second class ticket which they wanted to upgrade to an AC one. Due to "paucity of time" they could not upgrade the tickets.
It is said that they paid the difference before they got off.
