Would be going for a Company car for 5 years, unlimited Fuel,Maintenance Free.Anything above Rs5L basic price is from my pocket in 60EMIs.
The Chioces are the Chevrolet Aveo,The Ford Fiesta & The Honda City.
I guess the models may differ out there. However Out here These are the Pictures.
Most people I've spoken to rate the City higher.
The Chevrolet Avio 1.4LS
The Ford Fiesta 1.4ZXI
The Honda City GXI

See....
If you want a Diesel car, the nothing can beat the Fiesta Diesel.
But, if you want a Petrol car, go for Honda City VTEC. _________________ Nalini... The Princess of the Sky... You are a star which will continue to illuminate your own A.net-India forever... |

Hi Mel
I have the Fiesta... and i can say that fuel effeciency wise.. its just excellent... if you are going to be in bom itself in city driving.. i would recommend it over the city also... it will be as cheap as driving on water.
Seriously.. the city is a great car... but fuel effeciency of the fiesta is great.. gives me almost 15-16 in city mileage. It is underpowered though... so if you are only in the city and not in the mountains you just fine.
let me know if you want more info about it...

LET ME MAKE IT CLEAR......CITY AND FIESTA ARE BOTH HEAD TO HEAD.......BUT ENGINES MAKE THE MAIN DIFFERENCE....
CITY PETROL BEATS FIESTA PETROL......
CITY NOT AVAILABLE IN DIESEL...SO FIESTA WINS....
If you are looking for mileage only and are not particular about the fuel, then go for Fiesta Diesel.
If you are looking for style and mileage both, then go for City(preferably VTEC).
Although the efficiency of Fiesta Diesel is much higher than City Petrol...... The rest I leave to you..... _________________ Nalini... The Princess of the Sky... You are a star which will continue to illuminate your own A.net-India forever... |

Since Fuel is unlimited & maintenance Free.I'm not interested in Resale value as is a Company car. After 5 yrs I take another So the main criteria is Driving on BOM Roads,Cofmort level Fwd & aft & Safety.

Today I read an article in the Mumbai edition of HT which compared the fiesta, city & aveo. It was taken from the leading auto magazine Autocar.
Those people think that the fiesta is a better choice as it is made specifically for use in India & has a much better ride than the honda city.
But still my choice would be the Honda city. It is a great car with nice interiors & you won't go wrong with Honda. The same article had something about bad after sales service of Ford.

Out here in US 99% I would never buy an American car. Lease maybe. Even lease my relative had an harrowing experience with Ford Explorer and they swore of it too.
If I were to buy in India, I would follow the same ...

Good CHOICE! you wont regret it!
We got one in white last year after thoroughly evaluating its competitors, Fiesta etc we even considered cars in different categories like the DICOR, Corolla and Scorpio, in the end the City made a lot of sense value (bang for the buck) and quality wise... with Fiesta being a close second (Kudos to Ford on the Fiesta really).
The City is a tough little car too... we drove it for a couple of months where we were in India... it got a lot of beating. We gave it to one of our relatives who uses it on almost daily commute between punjab and chandigarh and travels a lot within Punjab (villages with very bad or NO roads) for his work and so far its been good.
I just the service was just as cheap as our old Zen... I loved that car. _________________ "They [Terrorists] never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." - GWB |

Well, cars look fantastic in black, but even the most minute scratch is easily visible on black cars.
And driving in BOM without any scratches is very tough

Dark blue was available in the old City not ZX. I haven't ever seen a dark blue City ZX. If I would have to make a choice I would like to buy either VTEC exclusive blue or steel grey or black...hehe... _________________ Nalini... The Princess of the Sky...
