I go after the 1:500 and 1:400 scales as well (no plastic ones)
I have about 600 models as well, ok ok divide that by a hundred!
I would love to see pics of your setup if possible.

The plastic vs. metal (wing) argument is ridiculous. IMO. |

hi Saif! whereabout are you in Toronto. Myself and C-GHKR are located here as well. Maybe can do spotting together when weather improves.

Heya,
Pankaj here..A few here know me.Not much to say apart from being a hardcore techie about planes especially the Boeings. Not that i do not like Airbus but just didnt have the chance to explore the bus. Gotta lot of manuals on Boeing 7's.I am 28years old and work as a software engg at Accenture Mumbai. Nalini wanted me to contribute to the tech section out here but since most of the discussions here were around commercial aspects of Aviation I was not much interested..I wanted to be a pilot but have my own doubts of clearing class 2 as I had a minor knee surgery. So i satisfy myself through Flight Simming.I love flying the PMDG 737,747-400,Level D 767.I will try to contribute on the Tech front..Good to meet you guys and miss u Nalini...

Hi Pankaj,
We all would be happy , especially MEL , to have more "techies" involved here. I'm happy you are implementing Nalini's request. |

Guten Tag Jan, Wilkommen. ich hoffe im naheres Zukunft kanst du als MD11 Ingenieur in Indien werden.
Hi Pankaj, what kind of flight simming are you into? I am quite an avid buff of the open source flight simulator called flightgear (www.flightgear.org). I'm very interested in contributing airplane models and sceneries to this project; but until now, haven't got enough time unfortunately.

Hi,
I am mainly into MSFS(FS9 and FSX)..I did try out the Flight gear..But I was not much impressed..But a good start from an open source perspective..FS9 works like breeze on my machine while FSX sucks at the moment..The only reason I am not into Flight gear is lack of realistic commercial addons like PMDG 737/747..

Not much into MSFS, I'm afraid. The latest I've used MSFS is FS9. FlightGear is better than FS9, but I've heard about very realistic simming in FSX.

Yeah FSX looks a lot better than FS9. I tried it at max settings and woww the whole scenery was tooo good during the dusk..But still a lot more to improve on the weather radar front and slopy runways..Have u tried the commercial addons like PMDG 737/747 , Level D 767 , Active sKY in FS9??

Er.. maybe we should take flight simming to a separate thread..
Anyways.. I've tried 737, but that was several years ago. I've not been using MS flight simulator for a couple of years now. Do they also have world scenery? I remember FS9 had some Indian cities like Mumbai, but the terrain looked nowhere like Mumbai. The terrain data in flight gear is really good -- especially the latest version 0.9.10.
I'm able to for instance, visually navigate from VAPO to VABB and can recognize several hills in the vicinity of VABB like the ones in Mulund and Ghatkopar. |

Hi everyone and thanks for Nimish's warm welcome too!
I am Alvin and I live in Hong Kong. I found this is the most updated and informative India subcontinent aviation forum. Thanks for the moderators for creating such an amazing website.
My greatest research interest is flight schedules of major airports around the world. At this moment, I am working on a comprehensive list of a couple of airports such as ICN, HKG, BKK, SIN, etc. I would be very interested to compose DEL and BOM airport schedules for the fellows here. I would need much of your information in local India!
My pleasure to everyone here!!!
