Boeing has just said that it will be handing over the first of the three VVIP 737-7HI BBJs to the IAF by mid-April.

Maintenance/training will be by Air India and the IAF.

Maybe AI or Blue dart could buy them for their cargo ops? or they could end up in a museum.

-PCF stands for Precisions converted freighter, its based on a STC similiar to the -PF produced by Boeing for the B752 series. It provides 15 pallet position as compared to the 14.5 of the -SF.

As on the topic of IAF B732s of Tom squad. They have the rarity of more flight cycles & less Airframe hrs than average Smile

Air Force One INDIA
www.indianexpress.com/sunday/story/273686.html

While the Indian version of Air Force One is being kept under wraps by IAF due to “security concerns”, the aircraft is known to be fitted with a secure satellite communication centre, an advanced missile warning system and deflecting shield, electronic counter measures and radar warning systems.

The first of the BBJs, fitted with the highly classified missile avoidance systems and security suite, is currently being flight tested by the IAF in the US. After complete integration of the security package, the BBJ is expected to land at the Palam Airport—home to the IAF’s elite Communications Squadron responsible for air travel by VVIPs—by the the first week of May. The other two jets are expected to arrive later in the year.

It's about time there was a dedicated aircraft.

Why is it only 3000nm? I thought the specs were more than double that. No extra fuel tanks? Too many add-ons?

Funny how they say it's a wide-body but before that gets pointed out I think that is how Boeing marketed it compared to other business jets.
