Mumbai, Jan 14. (PTI): The Indian aviation industry would create 40 lakh jobs in the next 10 years, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel here on Saturday.
After IT, ITeS and Telecom, the aviation industry would be the growth area that would give lot of opportunities for youngsters, he said.
Patel was in the city to accept Rotary's "Super Achiever Excellence Award" for opening up the Indian civil aviation sector.
The Government has realised that it alone cannot to do everything for making India a prosperous country, he said. So, it has embraced the concept of public-private partnership, he said.
Besides Patel, Rotary also honoured Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha member Eknath Thakur with the Lifetime Excellence Award and the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd with the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
Multi Commodity Exchange was honoured for integrating rural India to the global markets. It is one of the top 10 in global commodity exchange and it has 1,500 members. Its average trading per day is $1.5 billion. _________________

Now we are talking. Handled correctly, the aviation manpower business can be a bigger success story than the infotech business, domestic as well as internationl, for people of Indian origin and Indians,
And as for electoral politics, which is also essential, well this sounds sweet for small town semi rural semi urban population centres too. |
