Hello everyone.
My name is Arun. I live in Connecticut, US. My hobbies are planespotting, and whenever an observation deck is available at an airport, I always try to go there.
I will be visiting India in 2008, and I really look forward to it.

Hello. I am actually from Singapore, but currently am holidaying in India. Trivandrum, Kerala to be exact. I live near the TVM airport, and I can see planes on arrival. Sometimes, AI 744, UL A343 and just as I was typing this, a Mihin Lanka A321 from Colombo just landed. I am glad that I found such a nice forum! _________________ Boeing 747! |

here is Intro message from Sumantra
Quote: | Hi all, I'm from New Delhi. I grew up here, admiring
the shrill sound of the 707s coming in to land, and the drone of
the DC-3 Dakotas and the Fairchild Packet C-119s, and an
occasional An-22 coming in to land. Honourable mentions include
a few long pencil-thin DC-8s (63s, possibly), and occasional IAF
Canberras, Hunters and Mig-21s. I spent about 6 years in Mumbai,
watching the landing path of the two runways from beyond the
hills (Powai). I've been a very lazy person, lurking about on
airliners.net and reading airlinersindia posts, but joining the
latter only recently. My policy of crass pro-procrastination will
not see too many posts from me, but thanks to all for making
these two fora wonderful sites to visit!
Cheers, Sumantra. |

Hi All.
I am Dave from Ireland.... down here again in your wonderful country working on planes... my love and joy....
I've been hooked on aircraft since I was 8 when my dad arranged a jump seat ride for me on a Viscount for my birthday.... ever since then its been planes, planes, planes.
I mostly have a passion for the older last gen prop planes and the 1st gen jets... the coal burners as they were affectionately known...
My job in aircraft engineering takes me all over the world and of course I have the camera always in the bag!!!
I am lucky also in that I can get ramp shots due to my job but also enjoy taking from the perimeter and approaches at airports... a good place to meet fellow enthusiasts.
I have just started uploading my shots to photobucket.. but as i cannot post links yet you can search for me there under "FlyDCJets"... I'll be uploading a good few from India as soon as i can.
If any of you see me at the famous spot at BOM just come up and say hello.... you cant miss me... 6'5" tall!!!
Apart from that I'm glad to see this is a well run and clean forum...with plenty of fellow spotters!!!!
Cheers to all and happy snapping.

Welcome Dave.
Since you work on the IFEs at IT as consultant you must be working in the day.
Do you work on the Tarmac too.Maybe I'd bump into you someday.

Welcome to this forum sir
Lately, photography from that hillock has been prohibited by the police. Do keep a watch whenever you spot.
