Regn : VT-JCH
ETA( from BLR ) : 1130
ATA : 1250
STD : 1215
ATD : 1310
STA: 1355
ATA: 1445
This ATR operates BLR-TRV & TRV-MAA and another does, MAA-TRV & TRV-BLR route.
We reached TRV, around 1030 & the flight was scheduled for 1215hrs.
There is a nice restaurant called Muthoot plaza inside the domestic terminal.
First thing I noticed was the paramount flight being cancelled. The guard told me that its normal affair & there are very less people flying that airline.
There were red flags all around and some Airport Bachao Samiti had a protest in the afternoon. Till that time I was always under impression that Bachao samiti is for something which is to be demolished permanantly, but this turned out to be against modernisation.
A small area is shared by all airlines.
Had to wait long for Xray to start & then the printer got stuck at the counter, so that meant 20 mins more wait.
Before us, was a Jetlite flight to DEL, it comes via COK & goes direct.
But it was delayed for 45 mins
Our delay announcement came & there was a delay of 30mins, which meant the revised time was 1245
Till then watched the Ai A310, AIX B738 & AI B757, VT-GLA.
Couldnt figure where they were headed & if they were on schedule.
Then came IC A320 which was headed to Male, surprisingly it was operating full, 3 busses full of people boarded.
The jetlite a/c came much more later than revised time.
It was a B738, VT-SIJ
Boarding was fast.
Then came our ATR, VT-JCH.
Just when we boarded, VT-JAS landed from BOM, right on time.
Flight was smooth, we cruised at 19000ft.
Service was OK, except for the FA who couldnt handle those trays & the male FA was busy reading ToI.
landing was smooth in MAA, taxing was very fast & the special announcement being made that the a/c is to be readied for next sector.
Saw Jet's A330 at MAA, 3 x blue Dart, 1 x SIA Cargo,
VT-KFF
DKH,DKT,JNW,JCF,KAF,EPP.
Terminal at TRV very bad, stinking toilets & no dustbins.
Saw an interesting fact. There is a stone statue inside the terminal, with palms open, somebody had kept few cents in it..
MAA terminal under renovation & in bad state. Parking area seemed good. |

Is this supposed to be a "guess the airline" contest review or what???
Would have made life simpler if you mentioned "Jet Airways" a little more clearly.I know this is a specialised forum, but not all of us here are aircraft registration freaks.
TRV airport domestic terminal is a good one as far as Indian standards are concerned. Apparently this strike (which I think was by AAI guys) was the problem.
IC flight to MLE is always full. And as you may have observed it is not all foreign tourists who are filling that flight. Lots of "medical tourism" in TRV from the people of MLE. Plus a lot of Keralites are working as teachers, hotel staff etc in the various islands. Sahara used to fly this route - looks like they have withdrawn. |

Couldnt figure out if they were Indians or not, because they came from The international terminal.
I wouldnt rate the terminal as good,
stinking toilets inside the hold area was creating a big problem for all & to add to that pax of two delayed flights. |
