India and Singapore have expanded their air services agreement to increase flights between Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, and Singapore.
A new air link between Coimbatore and Singapore is also possible.
There are currently 142 weekly flights between Singapore and India, says the UNI report. |

KCM - need more details!!!
The DGCA site is not updated yet - hopefully they'll add the new ASA in the next few days.
BLR certainly can do with the one extra frequency by SQ (to make it a daily). And I assume/hope this ASA will allow other LCCs like Tiger to make a move towards India. |

Nimish,
Searching for it.
Additional info is:
"The agreement also grants airlines from both countries additional ‘‘fifth freedom’’ traffic rights — or the ability to pick up passengers or cargo on each other’s territory en route to other destinations."
If you saw the UNI report, you would have gone to sleep. Just blah blah about how Singapore is beautiful and India is a sleeping elephant that needs more air links. Last paragraph had the infomation required. |

Brilliant - now we might have the option to flying SQ from India to Europe or India to the gulf (or even India to Africa!). Would certainly make sense for SQ as their service will ensure that their a/c are full. |

I feel they shud start flights to USA. That'll increase fare war and hence fares would be reduced for sure _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld
