Hopefully not for too long - they're the noisiest birds in the sky! |

Maybe due to their size, but they appear faster while sprinting for takeoff compared to the regular 320s and other 737s seen on Indian airports. Personally, the 732s still are a beautiful sight to me on the runway...

The engines used are almost like jet aircraft engines...older technology

Thats because they're smaller in size...a jumbo appears to be taking off at the speed of 60kmph where as it is much faster.

Probably get gradually replaced by B752SF & B733SF in the future.Max another 2-3 yrs of sleepless nights for Nimesh. As BLR-MAA is non economical with a B752 currently.
At Bom every night there are Two B732SF & Two B752SF operating.
Due to the Winter Fog schedule. The Dep are preponed by an hour.Hence the B732SF move out around 0245hrs & 0345hrs.
The Engines are Low Bypass JT8D-9a/17/17A depending on the Registration.

@ Mel
Are these old birds fuel efficient.
Is it possible for you to share how much fuel does this bird utilise on a Blr-Maa sector with full load. _________________ I love the smell of Jet Fuel in the morning. |

There were three IC Aircraft with BDA.
One VT-EAI was scrapped for a huge profit
The other two VT-EDR & VT-EDS now VT-BDE & VT-BDF respectively. But now are used minimum as they are JT8D-9A powered & due to be phased out soon.
JJ.....You are asking for Official data.Im sure you know how that is.I can give ideal condition data only.Im sure you'll understand.

Mel,
What are your replacement options for the 732s after they retire? _________________ http://www.myspace.com/avsatsworld
