While someone else may help with shops, I can recommend just buying something from ebay.

Legality - god alone knows. Getting caught - no, not possible as the radio does not transmit. Unless someone sees the radio and questions you on it, there's no other way it can come to notice.

Suggest you buy a small handheld one - Maycom AR108 being a popular model.

I saw the Maycom AR108 model yesterday and we used it to listen.

The problem with this model is that it is not as clear as it should be because, Shekhar says that it does not have a strong antenna.

Is it available in India.

Because i have read in the forum that if u get it via some courier company, the customs make life difficult.

My experience is not bad at all - reception is clear (though that might be as I'm next to the airport), but the built in speaker is a PoS. To listen - you either need to use headphones, or connect to an externally powered speaker/amp.

An ICOM is any day superior to this Maycom stuff... But the price difference of US$130 is huge, check it out at Pilotessential.com website
