CFM International, a joint venture company of France’s Snecma (SAFRAN) group and US-based GE, has announced that its fourth aircraft engine maintenance training school would be launched in New Delhi in 2010, says NDTV Profit.
CFM International is a 50/50 joint venture between Snecma (SAFRAN Group) and General Electric Company, world’s leading manufacturer of aircraft engines.
Paul-Andre Chevrin, CFM vice-president of India, in a statement said once the facility was fully operational,’’we will have the capability of training up to 500 engineers from India and other neighboring countries in South Asia every year.’’
The new 1,000-square meter training school, which will mirror the facilities already operating in China, France, and the United States, will initially provide advanced courses in line maintenance and borescope inspection for CFM56-7B and CFM56-5B engines, which power Boeing 737s and a majority of Airbus A320 series aircraft respectively.
